Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Maintenance Millwright is a full-time position, responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. You will be required to maintain equipment to the required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You work as part of a team but will routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of workmanship and safety while performing your duties.
Job Responsibility:
Adhering to all workplace safety policies, LTV procedures, compliances, and regulations
Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Installing machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using various tools
Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical and automated systems to detect malfunctions and irregularities
Adjustment, repair, and replacement of defective machinery parts
Operating machine tools and welders to fabricate parts required for completing maintenance tasks
Ensuring safety devices are functioning properly after completing repairs modifications or installations
Participating in the PM program of all equipment for continuous improvement of all equipment
Utilize the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders, and PMs and updating the equipment databases
Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machines.
Maintain a clean and environmentally safe workplace
Perform other related duties as assigned
Support local and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, waste, and 5S
Requirements:
Successful completion of the Red Seal Millwright 433A program or enrollment in program
Minimum 5 years of experience preferred
Knowledge of motors, hydraulics, vacuum, pneumatic, heating, and cooling systems
Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, etc.
Physically fit and able to lift 33lbs, negotiate inclines, stairs, ladders, and scaffolding. Able to perform physically demanding activities in both indoor and outdoor environments. The job requires bending, kneeling, crawling, standing, and working from heights and confined spaces for extended periods of time.
Basic PC knowledge
Must be able to work all shifts in the collective agreement
Willing to work extended hours when required including nights, weekends, on-call, and holidays
Verbal and written communication in English
Willingness to cross-train in another trade
Must enroll in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
