Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a large public sector organization to hire a Recruiter for a 6 month contract opportunity in Whitby, ON. This role is supporting departments including Public Works, Social Services, and Long-Term Care. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension and will offer hybrid work arrangements with 2 days in office.
Job Responsibility
Manage structured, high-volume recruitment competitions across multiple departments
Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, timelines, and workforce requirements
Act as a recruitment SME and integrity/fairness reviewer throughout the hiring process
Develop and support competition design including screening criteria, assessments, and interview structure
Recommend sourcing strategies including LinkedIn, niche job boards, networking, and proactive outreach
Support multiple requisitions simultaneously
Ensure consistency across unionized recruitment processes and multiple collective agreements
Act as a liaison between hiring managers and internal talent teams to ensure smooth workflow
Requirements
3+ years of recruitment experience in high-volume, corporate, public sector, or unionized environments
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the ability to manage competing priorities
Experience managing multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment
Exposure to unionized environments and collective agreements considered a strong asset
Experience with structured interview or assessment design is an asset
Familiarity with ATS systems such as Oracle or PeopleSoft is an asset
Strong communication skills and ability to act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers
Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment
Nice to have
Exposure to unionized environments and collective agreements
Experience with structured interview or assessment design
Familiarity with ATS systems such as Oracle or PeopleSoft
What we offer
Compensation: $30 to $43/hour
