Job Description

We are looking for a Recruiter/HR Generalist to support staffing and core human resources operations. This position combines full-cycle talent acquisition with day-to-day HR coordination, helping create a smooth experience for candidates, new team members, and current employees. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and confident managing sensitive information while ensuring compliance with employment practices and policies.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead recruitment activities for a range of positions, including salaried, hourly, and production roles, from posting openings through candidate selection
  • Partner with hiring managers to review applicant qualifications, coordinate interviews, and support informed staffing decisions
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation in both digital and paper formats, ensuring employee information is current and properly filed
  • Update HR information systems and prepare departmental records and reports to support daily operations and workforce tracking
  • Coordinate pre-employment steps such as reference checks, post-offer screenings, medical evaluations, and drug testing
  • Organize and facilitate onboarding and orientation for new employees to help them transition successfully into the organization
  • Monitor HR practices to help ensure alignment with applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Contribute ideas for improving HR procedures, workflows, and service delivery across the department
  • Assist with employee relations, benefits-related administration, and additional HR projects or assignments as needed

Requirements

  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruiting for multiple position types in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of HR administration, onboarding processes, and employee record management
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and the ability to maintain accurate confidential data
  • Understanding of employment law and HR compliance requirements at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with candidates, employees, and supervisors
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, stay organized, and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Background in employee relations, benefits support, or broader human resources functions is preferred

  • Support onsite HR activities at the Greenville, SC location (25%)
  • Partner with key stakeholders to establish full-cycle talent acquisition plans and develop candidate pipelines
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS), driving Gates’s recruiting process, and meeting Global Recruiting Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Source active and passive candidates using a variety of channels, such as Indeed, LinkedIn, and other talent acquisition platforms
  • Evaluate applicants’ fit by conducting interviews, analyzing responses, and verifying references
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, including recruitment vendors
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager and HR partners during the offer process by identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details
  • Support campus recruiting, employer branding, regional career fairs, DE&I, and other talent acquisition projects
  • Conduct objective investigations to resolve employee issues
