The Recreation Attendant is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the resort’s recreation facilities and programs. This role promotes a fun, safe, and engaging environment for guests by coordinating activities, assisting with equipment, monitoring guest safety, and delivering high-quality service. The position requires strong guest interaction, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to maintain recreation areas and equipment to brand standards. This role is island‑based and requires working on a rostered stay‑on‑island schedule.
Job Responsibility:
Greet, encourage, register, and schedule guests for recreation activities while promoting a fun, relaxing, and welcoming atmosphere
Provide accurate information about available recreation facilities, programs, rentals, and activity schedules
Enforce facility rules and safety guidelines to ensure guest wellbeing, and respond appropriately to emergencies following established procedures
Identify situations where guests may not safely participate and notify the supervisor/manager promptly
Clean, maintain, and inspect recreation facilities, equipment, and supplies
report defects or safety hazards
Process payments for rental equipment, activities, retail sales, or facility usage using appropriate systems and cashhandling procedures
Communicate professionally with guests and colleagues, respond to guest needs proactively, and assist individuals with disabilities
Follow all company policies and safety procedures
maintain professional appearance, complete required safety training, and report accidents or incidents
Maintain positive working relationships with team members and support the department in achieving operational goals
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors
Requirements:
Previous experience in recreation, sports, guest services, or hospitality-related roles preferred
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently with guests of all ages
Basic knowledge of recreation activities, safety procedures, or first aid (training provided
certification is an advantage)
Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and prolonged standing
Strong customer service skills, friendly personality, and ability to create an engaging guest experience
Reliable, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work on a rostered stay‑on‑island arrangement
Must have legal working rights in Fiji
