The Captiva Landing Activities Supervisor is responsible to assist in overseeing the daily operations of the resort’s activities, pool areas, Camptiva and other special events and activities. This Supervisor role ensures that all recreational spaces are maintained to the highest standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences in assistance to the Recreation Manager. The Captiva Landing Activities Supervisor will provide direction to the team, coordinate daily activities, and ensure compliance with all safety policies and operational procedures. Job Responsibility:
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of recreation attendants
Provide ongoing role-playing scenarios to enhance team members’ skills
Lead pre-shift meetings
Foster a positive work environment
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and evaluating team members
Assist with administrative duties like scheduling, ordering and monthly planning
Coordinate and lead scheduled resort activities
Develop, plan, and implement programming for Camptiva
Oversee daily operations of the resort’s kids camp
Ensure activity and camp areas are properly set up
Maintain and communicate daily activity schedules
Monitor program effectiveness
Train, mentor, and supervise camp and activities staff
Supervise camp counselors
Interact with children
Train staff on activity procedures and safety
Conduct regular refreshers
Monitor staff performance
Monitor and maintain recreational equipment and supplies
Perform minor repairs
Track inventory
Provide outstanding guest service
Enforce resort rules and safety regulations
Provide clear instructions to guests
Actively engage with guests
Maintain high visibility
Uphold all safety standards and emergency procedures
Conduct regular inspections
Maintain detailed records
Work closely with other departments
Assist with seeking opportunities to enhance offerings
Requirements:
Prior experience in recreation, hospitality, or resort management preferred
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
Excellent communication and guest service skills
Knowledge of water sports safety and beach/pool operations
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
