Job Description:

The Recreation Attendant will be tasked with working in two areas involving Pool/Waterpark & Beach Operations. As we continue to open the resort’s recreation amenities there will be opportunities as the department will continue to be expanded; not limited to additional pool and beach operations and recreational activities and events.

Job Responsibility:

Setting up pool seating and umbrellas
Removing trash and other items from the pool area including picking up towels
Stocking and handing out fresh towels
Directing people in a courteous manner and having them follow your direction when working the water slides
Attending to cabana rentals, providing a clean, safe environment
Working beach operations offering chairs, umbrellas, and towels to guests
Greeting and checking-in guests in a pleasant and professional manner
Escorting guests to their preferred area
Maintaining and upkeep the cleanliness of the beach
Enforcing safety rules
Regularly checking that equipment is functioning properly
Answering guest questions, providing solutions to their problems
Taking down and storing beach equipment
Keeping a safe environment while following company policies at all times
Monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Resort Pool Complex and beach operations/services
Overseeing the cabana rental programs
Managing all guest issues as they pertain to the pool areas
Reporting equipment or pool malfunctions into respective departments to ensure timely repairs
Working on the waterslides
Reporting any deficiencies to superiors
Monitoring inventory of cabana supplies and placing orders accordingly
Assisting with monitoring inventory of pool towels, pool lounge chairs and pool umbrellas
Assisting with monitoring inventory of beach towels, beach lounge chairs and beach umbrellas
Keeping all areas neat, clean and in good repair at all times including work vehicles
Enforcing safety and operating procedures and providing for maintenance needs in compliance with health and safety standards
Providing great public relations and being knowledgeable of resort happenings
Being directly involved with hurricane preparedness and other extreme weather conditions monitored daily
Assisting in the development, recommendation and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the resort
Attending company meetings whenever necessary
Assisting and advising where needed with all recreational needs throughout the department

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Background with working at a hotel/resort or related is preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle background check will be completed
Fluent in English language, must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
Must be a great multitasker
Must show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity
Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations – fast paced environment
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns or issues raised by coworkers and/or guests
Teamwork is essential and critical in this role
Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able work in different types of weather sometimes extreme, including high temperatures and humidity
