Job Responsibility:

Prepare recovery letters for tax/utility claims that have been paid out
correspond and communicate with third-party collection agencies for additional recovery efforts
promptly respond to voicemail and correspondence received from debtors
communicate with tax/utility claims handlers to clarify processes and explore improvement opportunities
negotiate amounts owed or payment plans where applicable
post payments in relevant systems as required
maintain a high level of attention to detail and follow all recovery processes
manage inbound calls, emails, and other communications regarding claims recovery.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a recovery-related role (tax arrears, utility arrears, liens, or similar recovery experience preferred)
ability to handle difficult situations with a calm and professional demeanor
strong organizational skills and attention to detail
excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
ability to negotiate and handle sensitive customer interactions
high school diploma required, post-secondary education in business or legal studies is an asset
proficient in using office software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
