This position ensures the ongoing access and preservation of historically and/or administratively important records through imaging services, indexing, and quality control that meets ANSI/AIIM and other professional standards.
Job Responsibility:
Capture digital images of documents or microfilm according to best practices and/or Wyoming State Archives' specifications, performing quality control on digitized content
Ensure proper handling of collection materials. Prep materials by removing fasteners, and handling small notes. Ensure the availability of metadata information. Prepare any necessary targets
Create metadata according to best practices and/or Wyoming State Archives specifications. Work with archives and state agency staff to confirm assigned metadata fields
Transfer final scans to HPRM database, Google Drive folder, or other program
Log scans to track the progress of scanning tasks
Troubleshoot basic problems with hardware, software, and image quality. Refer problems and ask questions of the supervisor as appropriate
Submit reports and routine updates on progress as required
Communicate effectively
Establish effective working relationships with state agencies
Exercise appropriate judgment in compiling and providing information

Requirements:
Associate's Degree (typically in Records or Data Management)
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Technician
OR 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Technician
Knowledge of scanning and imaging systems and procedures
Knowledge of quality control standards for imaging
Knowledge of current technology and trends in the profession
Knowledge of personal computers, including software such as spreadsheets, relational database programs, and scanning and imaging equipment
Knowledge of data compilation and organization
Skill in the use of scanners and image capturing software
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Nice to have:
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more years of experience scanning paper documents
familiarity with Adobe/PDF creation software
familiarity with the Google Suite, including Google Drive for sharing documents
