Job Description

We are looking for a Reconciliation Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in San Antonio, Texas on a Long-term Contract assignment. This position will focus on reviewing tariff-related reimbursements, confirming the accuracy of funds received, and identifying amounts that remain outstanding. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, excellent spreadsheet skills, and a careful approach to resolving payment variances across multiple financial records.

Job Responsibility

  • Review tariff reimbursement activity and compare incoming funds with original payments to confirm accurate financial records
  • Examine large Excel files and connected data sources to trace reimbursement details and verify how transactions are linked
  • Match received payments, including checks and other remittance types, to the appropriate historical tariff entries
  • Monitor recovered amounts and prepare updates on balances that are still pending collection
  • Research discrepancies, investigate exceptions, and resolve transactions that cannot be immediately identified
  • Create thorough reconciliation records that clearly document methods, findings, and outstanding issues
  • Work closely with finance, accounting, and operations teams to validate information and ensure complete reporting

Requirements

  • Proven experience performing reconciliations in an accounting, finance, or similar transaction-focused environment
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, including working with large datasets, hyperlinks, lookup functions, and data validation tools
  • Background in high-volume payment matching, account balancing, or transaction tracking
  • Ability to analyze financial information across multiple reports and systems with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and effective organizational skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, project-driven work environment
  • Experience with bank, account, daily, or credit card reconciliations is preferred
