Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and welcoming Receptionist to support front-desk operations in New York. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a positive first impression while keeping daily communications organized and efficient. The person in this role will handle incoming calls, greet visitors, and help maintain smooth administrative support for the office.

Job Responsibility

  • Welcome guests and staff in a courteous manner, ensuring a positive and detail-oriented front-office experience
  • Manage a multi-line phone system, directing incoming calls to the appropriate departments or team members efficiently
  • Respond to inbound calls promptly and provide accurate information or route inquiries as needed
  • Maintain the reception area so it remains organized, presentable, and ready for visitors throughout the day
  • Support general administrative tasks such as taking messages, handling basic office coordination, and assisting with day-to-day front desk needs
  • Monitor visitor flow and communicate clearly with internal teams regarding arrivals and appointments

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or front-desk support role
  • Ability to operate a multi-line switchboard or phone system with confidence and accuracy
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a clear, courteous phone presence
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of inbound calls while remaining organized
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-focused and courteous demeanor
  • Reliable time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office setting
  • Candidate must work on Saturdays with a day off during the week
