We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Receptionist to join our team in Salinas, CA. As the first point of contact, you will play a key role in managing inbound calls and directing inquiries efficiently while providing exceptional service to the public. This is a Contract to permanent position that offers opportunities for growth, including learning additional administrative skills.
Job Responsibility:
Handle 20-50 incoming calls daily, ensuring prompt and courteous responses to all inquiries
Transfer calls to appropriate departments or staff members, maintaining accuracy and a high standard of conduct
Interact with the public and direct them to the correct funeral director or department
Maintain a strong focus on providing empathetic support to callers, understanding their needs and concerns
Collaborate with team members to enhance administrative processes and improve service delivery
Follow office protocols, including a dress code in black and white attire
Support additional administrative tasks such as accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
Uphold a compassionate approach to customer service, ensuring callers feel heard and supported
Learn and adapt to new tasks, demonstrating reliability and attention to detail
Contribute to a positive office environment by practicing teamwork and effective communication
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Dependable and punctual with a detail-oriented attitude
Compassionate and empathetic, with a passion for helping others
Bilingual candidates preferred, but not required
Comfortable handling a multi-line phone system and transferring calls efficiently
Open to entry-level candidates with a willingness to learn and grow
High school diploma or equivalent required
Business attire (black and white) required in the office
