We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Receptionist to support daily front-desk operations in New York, New York. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming environment, managing communications efficiently, and keeping administrative tasks on track. The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for visitors and callers while providing dependable clerical support to the office.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome guests and direct them to the appropriate staff members or meeting areas in a courteous and efficient manner
Manage a multi-line phone system, answer incoming calls promptly, and route messages or inquiries to the correct departments
Maintain front-desk coverage throughout the day to ensure smooth communication and a positive visitor experience
Perform accurate data entry and update records, logs, or internal documents as needed
Organize, sort, and file paperwork to support orderly recordkeeping and easy document retrieval
Assist with general administrative duties that help maintain efficient day-to-day office operations
Requirements:
Experience handling front-desk responsibilities or similar customer-facing administrative work is preferred
Ability to operate a multi-line switchboard or phone system with confidence and professionalism
Strong verbal communication skills with a clear and courteous phone manner
Basic data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail
Ability to manage filing and other clerical tasks in an organized manner
Comfortable working in a fast-paced office setting while balancing multiple priorities
