Job Description:

A vacancy has arisen at the Galway Clinic for the position of Receptionist(s). These are locum positions providing cover for Friday evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and annual leave. The roles offer approximately between 15–24 hours per week.

Job Responsibility:

  • Meet and greet Patients for Clinics, visitors for wards, meetings – Attendees/Interviewees/Sales Reps for Departments/Contractors etc
  • Telephone answering, re-directing calls
  • Information Providers – giving directions, providing telephone numbers (internal and external)
  • Answering queries regarding Consultants’ specialities
  • To update information regarding change in consultant suites, change in telephone numbers etc. and inform the relevant areas
  • Assess the needs of the patient on presentation to reception/admissions
  • Inputting information on Patient Information system (Meditech)
  • Ordering taxis for Internal departments patient’s and visitors
  • Issuing visitor passes
  • Compiling and gathering lists. On call lists, Patient Lists (Inpatient and Outpatient)
  • Meeting Attendees and Interviewees
  • Active involvement in the clinic Quality Improvement Programme
  • Preparing and registering planned weekend admissions

Requirements:

  • One year experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Previous Experience in dealing with the Public
  • Excellent computer skills – MS Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative & in a confidential manner
  • Professional and flexible approach to work

Nice to have:

  • One year experience in a similar role
  • Previous Experience in dealing with the Public
