We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized receptionist to join our team in Forest Hills, New York. This is a long-term contract position, ideal for someone with strong communication skills and experience managing multi-line phone systems. The role requires availability on Fridays and offers an opportunity to contribute to the operations of a respected non-profit organization.
Job Responsibility:
Answer and direct inbound calls using a multi-line phone system efficiently
Provide friendly and attentive customer service to visitors and callers
Manage a switchboard with 1-10 phone lines, ensuring smooth call handling
Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and data entry
Collaborate with team members to support daily operations
Handle inquiries and provide accurate information about the organization
Ensure all communication is handled promptly and with attention to detail
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a receptionist or in a similar role
Proficiency in handling multi-line phone systems and switchboards
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy environment
Customer service experience with a focus on being detail oriented
Familiarity with basic office software and administrative tools
