We are looking for a dependable and experienced Receptionist to support daily front desk operations for a Contract position in Richmond, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone who creates a welcoming first impression, communicates clearly, and keeps administrative tasks organized in a busy office setting. The successful candidate will bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage calls, visitors, and data accurately.
Job Responsibility
Welcome visitors and provide a courteous, welcoming first point of contact for the office
Manage a multi-line phone system, direct incoming calls appropriately, and take clear messages when needed
Maintain the front desk area to ensure it remains organized, presentable, and ready for guests
Perform data entry and general administrative support with accuracy and attention to detail
Prepare, update, and format basic documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence using Microsoft Word and Excel
Coordinate with internal staff to relay information, support daily office needs, and help operations run smoothly
Assist with recordkeeping and documentation related to workplace incidents or litigation matters when requested
Support contract front office coverage needs while the organization identifies a long-term team member
Requirements
At least 1 year of experience in a receptionist, front desk, or administrative support role
Demonstrated ability to handle a multi-line phone system in an efficient and detail-oriented manner
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and organization
Detail-oriented demeanor with reliable attendance and a customer-focused approach
Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with visitors and staff
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and care
