We are looking for a detail-oriented and personable Receptionist to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring smooth communication and providing exceptional customer service. This part-time position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while utilizing your organizational and multitasking skills.
Job Responsibility:
Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they feel welcomed and directed to the appropriate person or department
Manage incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, including answering, screening, and transferring calls efficiently
Handle switchboard operations for phone systems with up to 10 lines
Respond to inbound calls promptly, addressing inquiries or redirecting them as necessary
Maintain a tidy and organized reception area to create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere
Coordinate with staff members to relay messages and schedule appointments when required
Ensure accurate logging of visitor details and phone messages
Provide general administrative support to the team as needed
Adhere to company protocols and maintain confidentiality in all communications
Requirements:
Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer-facing role
Proficiency in managing multi-line phone systems and switchboard operations
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility when needed
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable handling inbound calls and addressing inquiries in a detail-oriented manner
Ability to provide a welcoming and attentive presence at all times
Familiarity with basic administrative tasks and office equipment
