Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Receptionist to support a busy primary care surgery in Sheffield on a temporary basis. This role will involve working 20 hours per week for 6–8 weeks, starting the week commencing 8th June. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the reception desk, providing a professional and welcoming service to patients and visitors.

Job Responsibility

  • Greeting patients and visitors professionally
  • Managing incoming calls and appointment bookings
  • Handling patient queries efficiently and sensitively
  • Updating patient records accurately
  • Supporting administrative duties within the practice
  • Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with practice procedures

Requirements

  • Previous receptionist or administration experience within a GP surgery or healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Confident using healthcare systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work well in a busy environment
  • Professional and approachable manner
