Job Description:

Receptionist - National Probation Service. Hours: Full-time, with occasional late shifts (up to 9pm) every week. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful public service, develop your organisational skills, and be part of a dedicated team working towards community safety and rehabilitation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serving as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and staff via in-person, telephone, and email interactions
  • Managing visitor processes, including logging arrivals/departures, issuing passes, and coordinating security procedures
  • Handling reception enquiries with a friendly, customer-focused approach
  • Overseeing building logistics: managing mail, supplies, deliveries, and room bookings
  • Supporting meetings and events by setting up rooms, managing equipment, and registering attendees
  • Administering travel expenses, petty cash, and transporting funds between sites
  • Ensuring building safety through fire alarm tests, CCTV monitoring, and acting as Fire Warden or First Aider when needed
  • Reporting faults, maintaining repair logs, and escalating urgent issues
  • Responding calmly to challenging situations, involving security or management when necessary
  • Covering late-night shifts (up to 9pm) approximately once every week

Requirements:
