We are looking for a detail-oriented and welcoming Receptionist to support daily front desk operations in California. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of experience handling visitor interactions, managing incoming calls, and maintaining an organized reception area. The right candidate will bring strong communication skills, relevant experience, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a part-time capacity. This role will start at 20 hours a week but will eventually work into a full time role.
Job Responsibility
Greet visitors and create a positive first impression while directing guests to the appropriate staff or department
Manage a multi-line phone system, answer incoming calls promptly, and route each call accurately
Handle front desk activities such as receiving messages, responding to routine inquiries, and maintaining orderly reception operations
Support day-to-day administrative tasks by coordinating basic office communication and assisting with general clerical needs
Monitor the reception area to ensure it remains orderly, organized, and welcoming throughout the day
Maintain accurate call logs and relay important information to internal team members in a timely manner
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in a receptionist or front desk support role
Proven ability to operate a multi-line switchboard or phone system with up to 10 lines
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with callers and visitors
Experience answering and directing a high volume of inbound calls with accuracy and courtesy
Ability to work effectively in a part-time position while managing competing priorities
Proficiency in basic administrative and customer service tasks within an office environment
