We are looking for a friendly and organized Receptionist to support daily front-desk operations in Wakefield, Massachusetts. This is a Contract position suited for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming office environment, managing incoming communications, and keeping administrative tasks on track. The ideal candidate brings professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a busy setting.
Job Responsibility
Welcome visitors and serve as the first point of contact for guests, clients, and team members entering the office
Manage a multi-line phone system, direct calls to the appropriate contacts, and take accurate messages when needed
Respond to incoming calls in a courteous and efficient manner while providing basic information and routing inquiries correctly
Maintain the reception area so it remains neat, organized, and ready to receive visitors throughout the day
Support general administrative activities such as scheduling, filing, data entry, and handling routine office correspondence
Coordinate with internal staff to ensure front-desk coverage and smooth day-to-day office operations
Assist with part-time reception coverage needs and adapt to changing priorities during the assignment
Requirements
Previous experience in a receptionist or front-desk support role
Ability to operate a multi-line phone or switchboard system handling up to 10 lines
Strong verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented and approachable demeanor
Comfortable managing a high volume of inbound calls while maintaining accuracy and composure
Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once
Basic administrative and office support skills, including message taking and record handling
