Job Description

This role plays a key part in delivering excellent customer service across London Tribunals, a busy independent tribunal service. The successful candidate will join a team providing front of house reception at the hearing centre, supporting the appeal process against Penalty Charge Notices.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as the initial point of contact for the public attending appeal hearings
  • Provide a high quality service to independent adjudicators, colleagues, and the public
  • Work within established business processes and procedures to administer tasks supporting the overall service
  • Undertake key tasks which underpin the appeal hearing process efficiently and to a high standard
  • Cultivate a welcoming environment for everyone using and working at London Tribunals
  • Deal with a wide range of personal, written and telephone enquiries
  • Identify case management issues requiring attention of management and refer on where necessary

Requirements

  • Experience in a front of house reception role within a formal environment, working effectively as part of a team to deliver a high-quality public-facing service
  • Experience of working in a legal environment (desirable)
  • Experience of working with a legal case management software application (desirable)
  • A clear understanding of working in a statutory environment and dealing with service users who may be unhappy with a tribunal decision (desirable)
  • Clear understanding of the nature of administering an appeals service with independent adjudicators making legally binding decisions (desirable)
  • Experience in using ICT applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel (essential) and Google Sheets and Gmail (desirable)
  • Must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK

  • Experience of working in a legal environment
  • Experience of working with a legal case management software application
  • A clear understanding of working in a statutory environment and dealing with unhappy service users
  • Clear understanding of administering an appeals service
  • Experience using Google Sheets and Gmail
