Job Description:

A vibrant and inclusive primary school in the heart of Westminster is looking for a Reception Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, high-achieving school while making a real impact on children’s early development. In this Reception Teaching Assistant role, you will support children as they begin their school journey, helping to develop strong foundations in phonics, early reading and communication. You will blend structured learning with creative, play based activities, using your energy and imagination to engage pupils.

Job Responsibility:

Support children aged 4-5 in their first year of formal education
Assist with phonics, early reading, and writing development
Deliver and support engaging, play-based learning activities
Use your creativity through arts, storytelling, music, and role play
Help build children’s confidence, communication, and social skills
Work closely with teachers and EYFS staff to create a nurturing environment

Requirements:

Creative graduate (Arts, Drama, English, Psychology, Music or similar)
Experience working with children, ideally within Early Years or Reception
Understanding of phonics and early literacy (or is eager to develop this)
Energetic, proactive, and nurturing in their approach
