Job Description:

A school in the Belmont Are of Durham is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our friendly Early Years team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the Nursery, providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.

Job Responsibility:

Supporting children’s learning and development through play-based activities
Assisting with daily routines, including meal times, outdoor play, and creative activities
Maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment
Providing individual support to children where needed
Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff

Requirements:

Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years Education
Phonics Trained
Experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting
A caring, patient, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety in early years

Nice to have:

Paediatric First Aid trained (in date)
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
