Job Description

A lovely primary school in Abbey Wood, Greenwich are looking for a Reception Learning Support Assistant to join them ASAP on a full-time basis. The role is offered on a full-time basis (8.30am – 4.00pm) during school term-time. The school is part of a trust of schools across the borough of Greenwich, located close to mainland rail stations with local bus links and parking. As a 2-form entry site, teachers and teaching assistants within the year group work closely together in planning and assessment.

Job Responsibility

  • Join the school's Reception Class staff team
  • Take on Learning Support Assistant responsibilities
  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and prepare play-based learning activities
  • Teach early phonics and lead small groups
  • Lead some whole class carpet sessions

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school or other setting
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and how to effectively help younger children make progress in all areas of learning
