We are now looking for an exceptional Reception Class Teacher to join us from September 2026. This role plays a vital role in planning, preparing, and delivering the school curriculum, ensuring that lessons are engaging, inclusive, and tailored to the needs of all children. The Reception Class Teacher foster a warm and supportive learning environment, providing both academic and pastoral care to help students reach their full potential while monitoring and evaluating their progress. Strong communication with parents is essential, ensuring they are informed about their child's progress and development.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, prepare and implement the agreed school curriculum to cater for the needs of all children within the assigned class and any other class taught
Provide well planned, engaging learning experiences and support for all learners and to deliver a diverse, relevant and differentiated (where appropriate) curriculum for all children in the class
Observe and evaluate the progress of each child through implementing the agreed structures within the school and according to EYFS guidelines to ensure that learners have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential and attain the greatest possible outcome from each lesson
Provide a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere that is conducive to the social and emotional needs of the children within the class
Observe and evaluate the progress of each child and to record this progress as defined by the school
Provide pastoral support for the class, ensuring each child is given the opportunity to reach their potential, and be alert to any signs of emotional distress
Efficiently mark and comment upon the pupil’s work as defined in the school policy
Assess and evaluate pupils progress using the school’s agreed monitoring and assessment procedures
Create an engaging, stimulating and relevant learning environment through displays and classroom organisation
Work as part of a team with the teachers and assistants within the assigned year group and the rest of the school staff
Requirements:
Be a fully qualified teacher
Be an excellent classroom practitioner who values children
Have high, though realistic expectations of the children
Have a thorough up-to-date knowledge of the teaching year group curriculum
Be committed to making a difference to all children of all abilities and talents, using a variety of teaching styles to aid learning
Be a committed, dynamic and pro-active teacher and a cheerful, friendly and cooperative member of the staff
Be supportive and positive in their interactions with team members and pupils
