Job Description:

Westminster Under School is looking for a bright, caring and skilled Reception Class Teacher. This is a new role and department, presenting a unique and exciting opportunity to be a key part of the School’s development at a historic moment, as we also expand to be fully co-ed.

Job Responsibility:

Expertly deliver engaging and thoughtful lessons
Teach a small class of approximately 16 pupils, with a full-time teaching assistant
Contribute towards the preparation of programmes of work, including half-termly planning and termly planning overviews
Take care of the pre-prep environment, regularly updating class and corridor displays and providing a stimulating classroom experience for all
Take part in trips and supervise afterschool club provision on a rotational basis
Assist with Open Days

Requirements:

Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline
Completed a full or relevant Level 6 qualification
Experience of teaching Year 1 and 2 would be advantageous
Experience teaching in a Prep school environment would be advantageous
Excellent communicator with the ability to inspire and motivate both pupils and staff
Strong organisational and administration skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload
Enthusiasm for Early Years, as reflected in their teaching

Nice to have:

Experience of teaching Year 1 and 2
Experience teaching in a Prep school environment
