Job Description:

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving all kind of merchandise, especially food and liquor items at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman. This position involves working with various equipment, maintaining inventory systems, ensuring quality control, and working in challenging environmental conditions including extreme temperatures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Receive all kind of merchandise, especially food and liquor items
  • Setting up and organizing the receiving areas
  • Maintain cleanliness at all time
  • Receive, unload, and process deliveries and account for incoming freight based on invoice and purchase orders
  • Generate receiving reports in a daily basis
  • Maintain and secure all merchandise received at all times
  • Work with electronic devices, including computers, Pallet Jacks, Fork Lift machinery, hand trucks
  • Receiving, quality check, stage merchandise by department, mark appropriately for placement in facility
  • Work in cold freezer (-23F) including inventory requirements on a daily basis
  • Conducting detail month end invoice reconciliations and reporting
  • Inventory portfolio management
  • Containers cargo loading and unloading
  • Cargo receiving reconciliation and merchandise distribution/classification

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow standards, procedures, company policies, live up to ethic codes and have unblemished integrity
  • Talent to deal / solve the problems

  • Ability to be a clear thinker and remain calm in pressure situations
  • Ability to focus attention on details, be well organized and follow up
  • Extensive product knowledge to maintain FIFO, On-going Quality and Financial Audit compliances
  • Food Safety certification HACCP preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive professional work relationship with others
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Knowledge of mathematical conversions required (lbs. to kilos, ounces to grams, cm to inches, etc.)
  • Ability to work with percentage, cubic feet and have understanding of working cost controls
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • long hours, late evenings, shift work, split-shifts, weekends and public holidays
