Position Overview Employees are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations and policy procedures. Accurately receive and distribute all incoming merchandise, including business supplies and returned merchandise.
Job Responsibility
Receive and inspect incoming merchandise, verifying quantities, weights, and condition
document any shortages, damages, or discrepancies on freight bills and receiving
Receive all incoming merchandise, checking for accuracy of quantity and weight and for possible damage. Making appropriate notations on freight bills when an exception is in order
Distribute all merchandise to appropriate departments or areas
Check all fabric for correctness of quantity, pattern and color
Loads and unload trucks
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
Previous warehouse, receiving, shipping, or material-handling experience preferred
Ability to accurately inspect, count, and verify merchandise, quantities, and product specifications
Basic ability to read, understand, and complete receiving documents, freight bills, and inventory records
Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification if required)
Strong attention to detail, dependability, and ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to seven or more hours per shift
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and merchandise, and safely perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, and fingers
Ability to occasionally climb ladders, move between work areas, and perform physical tasks required for loading, unloading, and material handling
