The ideal candidate will have experience working on a variety of real estate transactional matters including, sales and acquisitions, office, retail and industrial leasing and experience representing lenders and borrowers in loan transactions. In addition, familiarity with corporate governance, business structuring, and general business transactional matters is desired. Job Responsibility:
Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases, development, and finance transactions
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, such as purchase and, lease and financing documentation, and corporate organizational and transactional documents
Advise clients on a variety of real estate transactional matters
Have a general understanding of entity formation, corporate governance and related governing documents
Ability to draft and negotiate a variety of contracts and other legal documentation for commercial transactions
Ability to manage due diligence for real estate and corporate transactions including the review of contracts, title documentation, surveys and miscellaneous financial documents
Collaborate with clients, outside counsel, and other professionals (e.g., brokers, lenders, and tax advisors) to ensure smooth and effective deal execution
Support clients in resolving disputes and issues arising in real estate, corporate, or general business contexts
Stay current with developments in commercial real estate, and related corporate matters
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in New Jersey
Strong work ethic and initiative
3-7 years of experience handling commercial real estate transactions
Strong knowledge of commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, real estate finance transactions
Experience in drafting and negotiating a variety of legal documents and contracts
Strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and transactions simultaneously
Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
