Job Description

Our client’s top tier Real Estate Finance and Structured Debt practice is seeking a talented Senior Associate to join the growing team. Lawyers advise across the full spectrum of Real Estate Finance transactions, including: Direct real estate finance lending; Loan-on-loan finance; CRE warehouse facilities; Back-leverage structured repo financings (MRA and GMRA based); CMBS transactions; Lease receivables-backed financings.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead complex real estate structured finance transactions across a range of financing structures and asset classes
  • Draft and negotiate CRE warehouse facilities, repo agreements (MRA/GMRA), note issuance documentation, securitisation memoranda, cash management and intercreditor arrangements
  • Act as the interface between Structured Finance and Real Estate/Real Estate Finance teams
  • Manage multi-disciplinary deal teams across UK and international offices
  • Build and deepen relationships with banks, investment banks, debt funds, alternative lenders, private equity sponsors and developers
  • Support partners in supervising and developing junior lawyers

Requirements

  • Strong experience in structured finance and securitisation concepts, ideally within a Real Estate Finance context
  • Excellent drafting skills and technical precision
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-value transactional environment
  • A genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior colleagues

  • To act as the interface between the Structured Finance and Real Estate/Real Estate Finance aspects of transactions, understanding the full range of financing structures from vanilla investment instruments through to securitisation and other structured debt financings
  • Be actively involved in developing our Real Estate Structured Debt knowhow offerings, both internally and for clients, and to be actively involved in CRE industry associations through thought-leadership and cross-market initiatives in the rapidly growing and evolving UK and European real estate structured finance market
  • Manage deal teams including junior associates, trainees and paralegals both from within Real Estate Finance and Structured Debt team and throughout the firm in the UK and globally
