Strong understanding of pre-construction design processes; Knowledge of construction engineering, technical design principles, and building systems; Familiarity with facility and property requirements, ensuring design supports long-term operational excellence in a large-scale retail real estate environment; Solid awareness of local regulations, safety standards, and sustainable design practices; Ability to integrate and boil down Ingka’s standards, guidelines, and technical frameworks into innovative, adapted design for each project

Requirements:

  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, simple and efficient conceptual design proposals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify the best technical and architectural solutions from a cost-efficiency perspective
  • Capacity to lead the preconstruction design process, ensuring alignment between multiple stakeholders in a complex corporate structure
  • Skilled in reviewing, defining, developing and constantly improving standards, guidelines, and methods related to design and technical solutions
  • Ability to challenge and improve current design approaches to achieve safer, greener and more cost-efficient projects
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex design concepts in simple, structured ways to outsiders
  • Strong project orientation, contributing effectively to timelines, budgeting, and early planning to the effective delivery of the team
  • Academic degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in a multi-site, international, large and complex organization, preferably in high-volume retail or commercial real estate
  • 10 years+ of experience leading pre-construction design and MEP systems in large and complex buildings
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
