Job Description

Our client, a leading mission-driven organization focused on expanding access to affordable housing and supporting community development through innovative financing solutions is seeking a 5 plus years housing real estate finance attorney to support the legal operations team. Their work includes structuring complex real estate transactions and providing lending programs that strengthen communities. The Senior Attorney/Counsel will provide legal support for real estate transactions, lending activities, and related matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft, review, and negotiate documents for commercial and multi-family real estate transactions
  • Structure and document loan agreements, security instruments, and related financing documents
  • Advise on acquisition, development, and disposition of real estate assets
  • Provide legal guidance on affordable housing programs and compliance with applicable laws
  • Assist with title, survey, and due diligence review for real estate transactions
  • Support closing processes for loans and property transactions, including coordination with internal teams and external counsel
  • Address legal issues related to construction financing, permanent financing, and refinancing

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in the U.S.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on commercial and multi-family transactions and lending activities
  • Strong understanding of financing structures and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of real estate financing structures and regulatory compliance
  • Strong skills in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal documentation
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs, including low-income tax credit housing
  • Exceptional communication abilities and attention to detail
  • Experience with title reviews, due diligence processes, and managing property transactions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven environment
