Job Description

We are looking for an experienced real estate attorney to join a well-established legal practice in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This position offers the opportunity to advise clients across a range of property matters, including residential and commercial transactions, while working alongside experienced legal professionals. The ideal candidate brings strong Massachusetts title knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to oversee matters independently from initial agreement through final closing.

Job Responsibility

  • Advise purchasers, property owners, and lending institutions on residential and commercial real estate transactions from opening through completion
  • Prepare, analyze, and negotiate transaction documents such as purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and closing packages
  • Conduct Massachusetts title examinations, identify defects or encumbrances, and take appropriate steps to clear title issues
  • Evaluate supporting records, including title reports, surveys, and municipal documentation, to confirm transaction readiness
  • Oversee active matters from client intake to closing, coordinating with brokers, lenders, municipalities, and other involved parties
  • Lead real estate closings and manage follow-up activities required after transactions are completed
  • Partner with other attorneys on sophisticated property matters that require additional legal analysis or strategic input

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar
  • At least 5 years of concentrated experience practicing real estate law
  • Proven ability to complete Massachusetts title examinations without supervision
  • Strong understanding of Massachusetts conveyancing standards and registry procedures
  • Ability to manage a full caseload independently while maintaining accuracy and deadlines
  • Excellent legal drafting, organization, and client communication skills
