Robert Half Legal is partnering with a well-established boutique law firm located in Naperville that's looking to hire a Real Estate Attorney with at least 2-3+ years of experience to support a diverse practice focused on commercial real estate transactions and land use & zoning matters. The ideal candidate will have prior commercial real estate or land use/zoning experience with a strong interest in handling land use & zoning. This position is paying between $140-250K+ (depending on prior experience with land use & zoning) plus a strong annual bonus and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and more. Job Responsibility
Advise clients on land use, zoning, and entitlement matters, including approvals, variances, and special use permits
Draft and negotiate real estate purchase and sale agreements, leases, and closing documents
Represent clients before zoning boards, planning commissions, and city councils, including preparing presentations and advocacy materials
Coordinate and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, and local government officials
Assist with formation and structuring of corporate entities (LLCs, corporations) related to real estate holdings
Conduct legal research and analyze municipal codes, ordinances, and development regulations
Manage and maintain case files, timelines, and transaction documents
Requirements
At least 2-3+ years of real estate experience, with exposure to land use, zoning, planning, or related commercial real estate matters
Juris Doctor and active license to practice law in good standing
Demonstrated understanding of zoning regulations, entitlement processes, and municipal review procedures highly preferred
Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and persuasive documents
