Job Responsibility

  • Design and implement effective reading instruction aligned with state standards and best practices
  • Assess students’ reading abilities using formal and informal assessments to inform instruction
  • Develop and deliver differentiated reading interventions for students at various skill levels
  • Provide direct instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy strategies across subjects
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Engage families in literacy initiatives and provide resources to support reading at home
  • Stay current with research-based literacy instruction and professional development
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold valid New York State Reading K–12 Certification
  • Wilson certification preferred.
