Job Description:

In this busy and dynamic role, you will ensure customer, business and legal requirements for raw materials and supplier quality assurance are consistently met by monitoring and assessing the quality of all incoming raw materials, including packaging.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assessing incoming raw materials and packaging against specifications and approved supplier standards
  • Communicating out-of-specification materials promptly to minimise operational impact
  • Maintaining accurate, real-time records and identifying anomalies in documentation
  • Conducting scheduled and ad-hoc sampling, reporting results and following corrective actions to closure
  • Monitoring and improving KPI performance, supporting investigations and audits
  • Participating in internal, customer and group technical audits to ensure compliance with QMS, GMP and HACCP
  • Identifying and escalating non-conformances, recommending improvements and reducing recurring issues
  • Managing supplier interactions, ensuring non-conformances are addressed and root causes resolved
  • Investigating customer complaints, maintaining traceability and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Promoting health, safety and compliance, reporting hazards and supporting continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems and raw material assurance within a manufacturing environment
  • Confidence conducting audits and applying QMS, GMP and HACCP requirements
  • Ability to assess raw materials and packaging against specifications with a high level of accuracy
  • Experience managing supplier non-conformances and supporting root cause analysis
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor KPIs and identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Clear and confident communication skills when working with internal teams and suppliers
  • A hands-on, practical approach with a strong presence in operational environments
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
