Are you a seasoned RAN expert with a strong grasp of RAN Intelligent Controllers (RIC)? Do you enjoy translating your knowledge into innovative software solutions? If so, this RAN Subject Matter Expert (SME) role with a focus on RIC is the perfect opportunity for you! Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as a technical authority on all aspects of RAN technologies (including LTE and 5G) with a deep specialization in RIC architecture, interfaces, and functionalities
  • Lead the development and implementation of RIC applications (xApps/rApps) utilizing your software development skills to address network performance and optimization challenges
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, vendors, and operators, to define and implement RIC use cases
  • Leverage your analytical expertise to identify opportunities for RIC-based optimization by analyzing network data
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to RIC deployments
  • Stay at the forefront of the industry by keeping abreast of the latest advancements in RIC technology and actively participate in relevant standardization efforts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working with RAN technologies, including extensive knowledge of LTE and 5G
  • Demonstrated expertise in RIC architecture, interfaces (Open RAN ALLIANCE – O-RAN) protocols (e.g., O1, O2), and their application within the RAN ecosystem
  • Proven experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile) and proficiency in at least one high-level programming language relevant to network automation (e.g., Python, Java)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a significant plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are required to navigate diverse team environments
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working independently and collaboratively as needed

Nice to have:

  • Experience with integrating machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) for network optimization using RIC
  • Familiarity with RAN performance management tools and KPIs
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python scripting) for automation tasks
