The Ramp Up Technician is responsible for supporting the ramp-up phase of production machinery and processes. This includes conducting failure analysis, setting machine setpoints and implementing machine improvements to improve KPIs. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Ramp-Up Engineer in preparing failure reports for suppliers, installing components, training production floor staff and participating in key activities such as FAT and SAT. The Ramp-Up Technician also collects and analyzes technical information from suppliers to identify potential improvements and support the Ramp-Up Engineer throughout the project lifecycle, working as a team.
Job Responsibility:
Troubleshooting and Analysis: Diagnoses and resolves advanced machine failures, identifying key improvement opportunities to optimize machine performance and ergonomics
Strategic Problem Solving: Conducts in-depth analysis of complex issues and collaborates on the design of mechanisms to improve ergonomics, efficiency, and machine capacity
Component and Technology Expertise: Demonstrates advanced knowledge of machine components and technologies, effectively translating this expertise into comprehensive training for technical and operational teams
Process Leadership: Leads machine setup, adjustments, advanced changeovers, and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operational integration
FAT/SAT: Provides expert technical support during FAT and SAT phases, ensuring alignment with project requirements and operational goals
Advanced Training Delivery: Designs and delivers advanced training programs tailored to technical staff, focusing on high-level machine functionality, maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
First-Line PLC and Technical Support: Acts as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting advanced PLC, electrical, and mechanical issues, proposing program modifications or adjustments when necessary
Coordinates maintenance routines (if necessary), ensuring efficiency and adherence to operational requirements
Requirements:
Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or related fields
4+ years of experience in technical roles, preferably in automated machine environments
Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in HMI and PLC systems
Experience in machine installation, maintenance, and process improvement
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Skilled in the installation of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components
High attention to detail in documenting changes, troubleshooting, and training materials
Ability to identify potential issues and proactively address them
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Adaptability to dynamic project requirements and production demands
Commitment to following QA and EHS standards
Nice to have:
English proficiency at a communicational level (B2+ based on the Common European Framework)
Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Omron, or Siemens
Knowledge of machine ramp-up processes, particularly in regulated industries
Experience in process optimization for output and operator ergonomics
Participation in FAT and SAT for equipment validation
Ability to train and mentor team members effectively
