The Ramp-up Engineer is responsible for managing ramp-up projects to contribute to the ramp-up of new technologies (including Transfer lines) to achieve key performances indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, cycle time, scrap rate, time to market and other project-specific metrics. This role has a strong project management focus. It is a highly relevant position with both local and external visibility, as achieving the maximum potential of machines (whether transferred or new) as quickly as possible is essential. Along the way, it is also crucial to train a multidisciplinary team in the equipment and processes involved. The Ramp-up Engineer supports the commissioning Department in case of new lines or new processes (IVS) and should obtain technical knowledge and methods for the equipment. Should also be able to train the production team on how to properly operate the machines. He/She will work in cooperation with a Junior Engineer, forming a work team, where the responsibility for achieving the final goal rests with both.
Job Responsibility:
Lead Ramp-up projects (IVS, SVS or Transfer machines) and ensure completion of projects according to scope, plan and budget
Create Ramp-up Project Agreement, according to template to define expectations, targets, KPI’s and time
Develop and manage a project schedule and work plan
Drive troubleshooting and crisis situations to get the ramp-up process back on track when needed
Predict resources needed to reach objectives in an effective and efficient manner
Report to the management relevant KPIs, risks and issues
Propose process improvements
Exploring continuously the possible technical developments
Works closely with the Transfer Team, Commissioning Team and the Operations Department
In the absence of the local manager and / or Supervisor, has the right to make decisions and to take the necessary steps to ensure the continuity of production
Participation in Lean activities
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and lessons learned
Ensure that the project team have a customer driven approach
Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines
Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system
Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given
Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or relevant experience
3-4 years of work experience in Project Management
English Level: B2 – Upper Intermediate level (base on the scale of the Common European Framework) is a must
Good communication skills
