Job Responsibility:

  • Travelling on our trains and patrolling our stations, you’ll help to deal with anti-social behaviour, crime and fare evasion
  • Sometimes it means physically stepping in to deescalate a situation
  • Other times it means seizing evidence and taking reports for minor crimes
  • Work with your partner, station teams, train staff, the British Transport Police and other services to resolve incidents
  • Make sure vulnerable passengers get the support they need

Requirements:

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • experience working directly with customers, ideally where you’ve had to deal with conflicts or anti-social behaviour
  • good decision-making and calmness under pressure
  • the ability to be resilient, assertive and remain professional in confrontational situations
  • the ability to use your own initiative and work well in a team
  • the skills to evaluate and interpret information and make appropriate decisions
  • Live within a 45-minute travel time to the location you’re applying for
  • Have been a UK resident for three years or more
  • Are able to complete and successfully pass Level 2 Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) which is undertaken by the British Transport Police (BPS)

  • Apply troubleshooting techniques to eliminate equipment malfunctions. Conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate problem. When necessary, replace defective units, components, or parts where appropriate.
  • Implement field modifications or updates as released in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) which may involve removal and installation of assemblies, sub-assemblies, systems, and subsystems
  • Carry out Tier 2 process qualification work.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate logs, service records, part usage documentation, diagnostic updates, and other management reports.
  • Professionally represent the company to the customer. Utilize knowledge of company’s product lines and services to keep existing / potential customers informed when new/additional needs are identified.
  • Develop good customer relations during installation and execution of service contracts.
  • Maintain company’s assigned equipment (computer, tool kit, diagnostic test equipment, spare parts, etc.) in good working condition, and ensure it is secure and accounted for.
