Security & Trolley Officers play a vital role in keeping Heathrow's rail stations safe, welcoming and operational. Working across the Central Terminal Area, Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 platforms, you will carry out security sweeps, manage passenger trolleys and deliver exceptional customer service to travellers, colleagues and our client. This is a highly visible, customer‑facing role where your vigilance and professionalism help maintain safety and smooth passenger flow at one of the world's busiest airports.
Job Responsibility
Manage passenger trolleys by clearing exits, collecting them from platforms and returning them to holding areas
Carry out security sweeps in line with the Station Security Plan
Patrol stations to identify unattended items, assess behaviour and escalate concerns appropriately
Check seals on critical equipment and emergency exits, reporting and escalating any issues
Maintain a polite, friendly and professional manner with passengers, colleagues and the client
Apply HOT principles confidently when assessing suspicious items
Report any damage or defects that may compromise safety or security
Stay alert to activity on site, reporting risks, suspicious behaviour or emergencies immediately
Assist with customer service duties, including Meet & Assist support during station closures
Complete incident reports, equipment checks and other operational tasks as directed by station management
Requirements
Strong customer service skills with confidence engaging the public
Ability to remain calm, clear-headed and decisive under pressure or in emergencies
Basic IT skills for reporting and communication tasks
Clear verbal and written communication skills for accurate reporting
High standard of personal presentation and professionalism
Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining strong attendance
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Comfortable dealing with a wide range of public interactions, including challenging situations
Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in relation to passenger needs
Genuine interest in and commitment to the work of Wilson James and its clients
Essential: SIA Security Guarding Licence (SG) or above
