Job Description:

Radiology Technologist- Full Time Weekends position at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7pm - 7am. Call and Holidays required. Hours Per Week: 36.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs and/or assists with Radiographic and Fluoroscopic procedures
  • Checks requisition for physician notes and/or special instructions and consults with Radiologist or physician as necessary
  • Verifies patient identification by verbal confirmation and validates proof of identity
  • Documents patient medical history pertaining to specific procedure on medical record
  • Operates Radiographic equipment within the department and selects proper technical factors on individual patient basis
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as required
  • Performs surgical and portable examinations as assigned
  • Assures that procedure rooms are adequately supplied
  • Maintains patient records and documents closing orders, fixing exceptions, obtaining STAT readings and verifying correct exam was sent to Stentor

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology
  • BLS required
  • Must meet all required elements of competency checklists for advancement level and have 2 years’ experience as Rad Tech I
  • Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers
  • Handling equipment and monitoring supplies
  • May frequently be required to stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in operating Radiographic equipment
  • Must be able to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of Radiographic equipment and in the case of injured and/or diseased patients
  • Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary
  • Exposure to various physical conditions such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs and being near moving equipment
  • Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity
