Radiology Technologist- Full Time 2nd Shift position at Advocate Sherman Hospital. Responsible for operating x-ray equipment and performing diagnostic procedures.
Job Responsibility:
Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs
Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures
Knowledgeable in the safe use, maneuverability and operation of all general radiography, portable, fluoro, C-arm and O-arm equipment
Proficient in the performance of general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, GI, Pain, Urology, C-arm and O-arm procedures
Adheres to infection prevention, isolation and sterile techniques
Adheres to ALARA principles
Utilizes proper patient identification
Obtains and records pertinent patient history, explains the procedure to patient
Adherence to department standards of radiographic quality
Reviews radiographs to ensure optimum quality
Reports environmental/equipment problems
Performs required computer function for RIS/HIS systems
Labels all radiographs appropriately
Consistently maintains an attitude of professionalism, teamwork and collaboration
Consistently provides positive interactions and a customer first approach
Participates in assessment of own learning needs
Attends in-services
Attends CPR classes
Maintains appropriate state license and national board certification
Maintenance of supplies
Ensures cleanliness of equipment and work area
Maintains inventory of supplies
Uses Universal Precautions
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology
Current ARRT (RT) Certification
1 year experience and proficient in the performance of general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, GI, Pain, Urology, C-arm and O-arm procedures
Good communication skills
Understanding of RIS & PACS
Ability to work under stressful situations
Ability to handle patient information in a confidential manner
Ability to adapt to fluctuations in patient volumes to meet patient care and department needs
Ability to work weekends and holidays
Ability to work rotating shift any day of the week
Ability to take call and arrive on site within one hour
Required to maintain current CPR certification
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
