Job Responsibility

Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies
Positions patient, adjusts equipment, secures immobilization and support devices as needed to perform procedures
Identifies each patient correctly prior to an exam procedure being performed, using two forms of identification, as indicated by the established Advocate Healthcare Time out protocol
Communicates effectively using AIDET with patients before, during and after exams to assure their comfort and cooperation
Provides explanation of delay for testing to patients who are waiting past their scheduled test times
Demonstrates good oral communications skills with patients, fellow associates, physicians and administration
Adheres to Standards of Behavior at all times
Responsible for database entry of appropriate exam charges, starting, completing and verifying each exam for appropriate interpretation by physician upon completion
Responsible for maintaining patient privacy while obtaining patient history and any pertinent continuing discussion
Adherence to proper handwashing technique at all times

Performs optimal scans using correct technical factors, shielding and protocols, based on the patient diagnosis, history and other relevant clinical information
