Job Responsibility

  • Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by a physician
  • Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies
  • Knowledgeable in the safe use, maneuverability and operation of all general radiography, portable, fluoro, C-arm and O-arm equipment
  • Proficient in the performance of general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, GI, Pain, Urology, C-arm and O-arm procedures
  • Adheres to infection prevention, isolation and sterile techniques as it applies in patient handling and delivery of care
  • Adheres to ALARA principles in performance of exams to reduce exposure to self, the patient and others
  • Utilizes proper patient identification
  • Obtains and records pertinent patient history, explains the procedure to patient
  • Adherence to department standards of radiographic quality
  • Reviews radiographs to ensure optimum quality
  • Reports environmental/equipment problems to appropriate resource personnel
  • Performs required computer function for RIS/HIS systems
  • Labels all radiographs appropriately following department’s established criteria and standards
  • Consistently maintains an attitude of professionalism, teamwork and collaboration
  • Consistently provides positive interactions and a customer first approach with patients and their families/caregivers and visitors

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology
  • Current ARRT (RT) Certification
  • 1 year experience and proficient in the performance of general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, GI, Pain, Urology, C-arm and O-arm procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of RIS & PACS
  • Ability to work under stressful situations
  • Ability to handle patient information in a confidential manner
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuations in patient volumes to meet patient care and department needs
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work rotating shift any day of the week
  • Ability to take call and arrive on site within one hour
  • Required to maintain current CPR certification
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
