Job Description

The Radiology PACS Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of radiology imaging systems and workflows across the health system. This leader ensures seamless integration between PACS, EMR platforms, and other clinical applications to support exceptional patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Manager serves as a key liaison among radiologists, technologists, clinical teams, IT departments, and external vendors to advance imaging technology initiatives and support organizational growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of radiology imaging systems and workflows across the health system
  • Ensuring seamless integration between PACS, EMR platforms, and other clinical applications to support exceptional patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance
  • Serves as a key liaison among radiologists, technologists, clinical teams, IT departments, and external vendors to advance imaging technology initiatives and support organizational growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Radiologic Technology, or a related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in PACS administration and/or imaging technology systems leadership required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting radiology imaging workflows, PACS operations, and clinical systems integration
  • Experience managing PACS administration, integration with Cerner EMR, and radiology IT operations strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a clinical, imaging, or healthcare IT environment preferred
  • Certification in PACS Administration (CIIP), Cerner EMR, or Health IT systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of radiology workflows, imaging modalities, and medical terminology
  • Expertise with DICOM, HL7, and other healthcare interoperability standards
  • Familiarity with EMR platforms and imaging integration workflows
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills related to complex IT systems
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, server infrastructure, and cloud-based PACS solutions
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy requirements
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both clinical and technical stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Experience managing PACS administration, integration with Cerner EMR, and radiology IT operations strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a clinical, imaging, or healthcare IT environment preferred
  • Certification in PACS Administration (CIIP), Cerner EMR, or Health IT systems preferred
