The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and interpreting the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), mammography, ultrasound, plain X-Rays and fluoroscopy.
Job Responsibility:
Performing and interpreting the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), mammography, ultrasound, plain X-Rays and fluoroscopy
Reporting on all plain X-Rays and conducting special investigations, such as barium enemas, meal, IVP, VCUG, sialogram, retrograde urethrogram and HSG
Communicating examination results or diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, or families
Providing counseling to radiologic patients to explain the processes, risks and benefits of the procedure
Developing or monitoring procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images
Instructing radiologic staff in desired techniques, positions, or projections
Conducting physical examinations to make decisions about appropriate procedures
Requirements:
A Medical Degree (M.D. or M.B.B.S.) from an accredited school of medicine, plus a completed residency programme in Radiology
At least three (3) years of relevant practical experience
Up-to-date registration with the Barbados Medical Council (or other professional registration body if not resident in Barbados)
High proficiency and comfort level in performing biopsies and CT drainage procedures
Nice to have:
BLS or ACLS certification would be an asset
Patient-focused with exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and professional demeanour
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Meticulous nature with a keen eye for detail
Able to exercise sound judgment in challenging situations and high-pressure environments
Able and willing to work closely and effectively with technical radiology team, inclusive of fellow radiologists, as well as radiographers and administrative staff
