Responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner. Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies. Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use if immobilization devices when warranted
Job Responsibility:
Prepares room and patient per order, properly sets up equipment, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors in order to produce a high-quality image
Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider
Maintains appropriate supplies in the x-ray rooms
Produces a diagnostic, high quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist
Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices
Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly
Completes and bills for studies accurately
At an advanced level, may train new employees or lead day to day work activities
Requirements:
Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required
Nice to have:
18 months of progressively responsible professional work experience in an Imaging Sciences setting for Band Two
4 years of progressively responsible professional work experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a clinical or hospital environment for Band Three
