Job Description:

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of the Radiologist
  • Coordinates daily activities to include performing examinations and associated clerical duties
  • Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
  • Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician
  • Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as required
  • Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary
  • Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills
  • Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology
  • Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date
  • BLS required
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served
  • Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff
  • Must be able to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment
  • Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary
