Job Responsibility:
Performs radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of the Radiologist
Coordinates daily activities to include performing examinations and associated clerical duties
Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician
Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity
Prepares and administers contrast media as required
Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary
Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills
Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards
Requirements:
Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology
Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date
BLS required
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served
Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers
Must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff
Must be able to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment
Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary
