Radiographer

• To undertake Radiographic and Imaging Examinations in a professional manner
• Adhere to professional guidelines as determined by the Irish Institute of Radiographers and radiation Therapists and maintain a high standard of Radiography
• To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection (justification, optimisation and dose constraints/limits are adhered to
• To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures
• Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols: be responsible for the correct identification of patient images
• To report any defects or problems either directly to Manager or Clinical Specialist in area where working
• To keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required. To actively participate in Continuing Professional Development
• To report all defects and occurrences which might affect safety
• To carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in area where working
• Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the service user and in relation to all hospital activities as per statutory requirements

• Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or have a Bachelor of Science or its equivalent in (Diagnostic Radiography)
• Must be registered with CORU
• Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers
• Have proven ability to work under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative
• Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required
